How to make drip bag coffee stronger
Strength comes down to ratio — less water per gram of coffee. For a bold cup, brew a 10 g bag with just 130 ml of water (1:13) instead of the standard 150 ml. Still not strong enough for a large mug? Add a second bag rather than piling more water on one. Two other levers help: use water at a full 195–205°F, and pour slowly so the water spends more time in contact with the grounds.Set the strength to Strong above to see your exact numbers.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my drip bag coffee so weak?
Almost always too much water for one bag. A single 10 g bag makes a balanced 150 ml cup — pour 250–350 ml through it and it turns thin. Use less water or add a bag.
How do I make a stronger cup from a drip bag?
Brew at 1:13 (about 130 ml for a 10 g bag), use hotter water (195–205°F), pour slowly, and add a second bag for large mugs.
